DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TREATMENT in Olympia, WA

Alternatives Professional Counseling Inc.  Our Domestic Violence Intervention Treatment Program is Washington State certified and meets the WAC 388-60b standards. 

Our program promotes the development of skills and behavioral change as the alternative to violence. 

We work with individuals who are experiencing personal and interpersonal adjustment issues. We foster an environment where clients are encouraged to explore areas of belief systems, personal values, behavioral responses and healthy communication. We believe that with increased knowledge, a deeper understanding of emotions and insight creates more satisfying interpersonal relationships and self-awareness. We provide clients with fast service appointments and complete all assessments in a timely manner. We work with attorneys, probation, employers and families to insure that all reporting needs are met expeditiously.

Thurston County Correctional Facility:

Alternatives Professional Counseling Inc., in partnership with Thurston County Sheriff's Office, provides assessments and treatment within the Thurston County Correctional Facility.

Alternatives Professional Counseling provides a Domestic Violence Offender Program within the Thurston County Correctional Facility. DVOP is a court ordered program that provides treatment to incarcerated individuals. DVOP is a two tiered program working with clients in closed custody for approximately eight to ten weeks. Based on progress and participation, the clients transition to the Work Release Program where they can secure employment and continue in treatment within the community.

Victim/Survivor Program:

Alternatives Professional Counseling Inc. provides a Victim's Advocate for all victims of Domestic Violence. For clients engaged in our programs our Victim's Advocate will make contact and do a confidential interview to ensure that all aspects of behavior are being addressed. We provide updates on compliance and treatment status. Our Victim's Advocate is available to safety plan, address concerns, navigate the judicial system, and provide appropriate referral services. Our Victim's Advocate is certified to assist individuals interested in the Washington Secretary of State Address Confidentiality Program. 


Alternatives Professional Counseling Inc. partners with the DSHS TANF program in providing a Victim Liaison for individuals receiving TANF and coping with victim/survivor issues.
Alternatives Professional Counseling Inc. is committed to the welfare and safety of all survivors of Domestic Violence.
Alternatives Professional Counseling Inc. offers a Women's Educational Program, with the Thurston County Correctional Facility. This specialized program offers a focus on the areas of self-esteem, self-concept, healthy families and healthy relationships. This opportunity is offered to any incarcerated woman within the facility and encourages the development of a plan using resources and support networks upon release.
